News/Bio

The past 12 months have been a banner year in many ways and just keep getting better – a new agent, great roles on TV, a film at Cannes, and an Indie thriller to complete the mix.

Doug can currently be seen as a Recurring Guest Star on the new David Duchovny series AQUARIUS on NBC.  He had the good fortune of playing opposite both Mr. Duchovny and Gray Damon on the episodes “Cease to Resist” and “(Please Let Me Love You And) It Won’t Be Wrong”.  Thanks, as always, to casting director Laura Schiff and also directors Michael Waxman and Lukas Ettlin for making it possible.

In May, Doug’s work was seen at the 2015 Festival de Cannes in a starring role in the Award-winning short film ADJUST-A-DREAM, written and directed by Jonathan Wysocki.  It was a wonderful accomplishment for this insightful and funny film about what gets revealed when a couple goes shopping for a mattress.

Prior to that, Doug signed with a new theatrical agency, Connor Ankrum and Assoc., and immediately booked a juicy role on Showtime’s MASTERS OF SEX opposite Julianne Nicholson (AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY) as her oncologist facilitating her final days. It was a great experience working with both Julianne and director Keith Gordon, and also casting directors Risa Bramon Garcia and Jami Rudofsky.

In between TV appearances, Doug recently shot a lead role in the Indie thriller DIANE under the direction of Michael Mongillo.  This was his second collaboration with Michael, having worked with him previously on the “mock-doc” BEING MICHAEL MADSEN.  Thanks, Michael, for the continued support!

You may still be able to catch Doug’s FDA anti-smoking commercial “The Real Cost of Smoking” as it closes out a very long run on all media platforms, and if you are in Oklahoma City this coming Fall, you can see him in a performance of his original Solo show BENT TO THE FLAME – A Night with Tennessee Williams in the first annual SOLO Festival at OKCU on October 31st, 2015.  (For more information about BENT TO THE FLAME, check out the dedicated tab on this website.

Doug’s other recent appearances include David Wiener’s Award–winning play CASSIOPEIA at the Theatre @ Boston Court in Pasadena under the guidance of director Emilie Beck, and artistic directors Michael Michetti and Jessica Kubzansky.
